Hey all! In case Tumblr fandom folks weren’t aware, AWAE fans on Twitter are currently working super hard to get BRING ANNE HOME trending. It’s currently at spot #24, but it would mean loads if we could get it up higher. If you’re currently resting/emotionally recovering, though, that’s valid and you do you!
Not Giving Up
Quick rant: Even if AWAE has absolutely no hope of being renewed, I have all intentions of continuing to fight. Here’s why: I want to give Netflix a PR nightmare. Not necessarily because of the cancellation, but because the way they handled it was wrong in so many ways. Not telling the showrunners while filming? Not telling the actors even the day before the announcement? Announcing the cancellation mere hours after the season finale premiered? Besides which, the entire thing reeks of corporate greed. So even if we don’t get what we want, I don’t want Netflix getting away from it without consequences. They need to be held accountable for such blatantly callous treatment of others. I want a Season 4 and will keep fighting for it, but it’s the injustice of the situation that’s really motivating me.
Post-3.06 Speculation
The more and more I think about it, the more I wonder if Minnie May will (at least partially) expose the truth to Gilbert. Why else would she have been in that scene? To add some Derry tension by bringing up the “monster book”? It’s possible, but that was such a short moment, and Diana alluded to Jerry all on her own. I could be completely wrong, but even when watching that episode for the very first time I remember being slightly thrown by the prominence of Minnie May in that scene.
3.06 spoilers ahead: While I absolutely support Anne publicly calling Billy out on his shit, the general mood of the late night newspaper scene felt very foreboding. I’m worried that when she publishes the truth about him, he might come after her in some way or another (and if he does I desperately hope that she kicks his ass).
Also Gilbert ily but you were really the definition of Very Unhelpful this episode smh
So somehow despite being absolutely murdered by the dance scene I noticed in the tense aftermath while Anne and Gilbert briefly face each other, in the background Tillie says “you’re very good at the banjo” and Moody responds “I guess I’m pretty good at the banjo” and I just about died laughing.
